Mojo Classic – Led Zeppelin and the Story of 1969

February 13th, 2009

Mojo Magazine have released their rather excellent celebration of 1969 (the 40th anniversary, you know), following on from the 1967 ‘Summer of Love’ special, a couple of years back.

Between the covers you will find features galore, including The Beatles’ final year as a group, during which they publicly disintegrated amidst squabbles and mutual animosity. The album that saved and reinvented the career of The Who, the classic rock opera Tommy. The final, sad days of Brian Jones. His old band, The Rolling Stones, releasing Let It Bleed and the orgy of mayhem and murder that was the Altamont Free Festival. An extensive feature on Led Zeppelin in the year they released their eponymously titled debut album. Crosby, Stills & Nash, Easy Rider, Woodstock, Blind Faith, Charles Manson and much, much more.

A must for any one with a passing interest in this music (that’s why you’re here, isn’t it?) and available in the shops now for £5.99.
