Whilst doing a spot of research on Bill Graham – celebrated rock promoter who ran the legendary underground venues, the Fillmore West and the Winterland in San Francisco and the Fillmore East in New York – I came across this site, The Psychedelic Art Exchange.

Described as “the premier source to buy, sell and learn about 1960’s Psychedelic Rock Concert Posters”, it gets a mention here because of its splendid gallery, which has a good number of original promotional posters for West Coast psych and acid bands of the late 60s – all rendered in a snazzy,  iTunes cover-view style interface. Click on the arrow and there’s a bit of info too.

My fave has to be the above Arsene Lupin-style poster for an early Jefferson Airplane gig, designed by renowned purveyors of psychedelic artwork, Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley.

You can view the psychedelic gallery here.

Don’t just read and applaud. Subscribe to the rather splendid RSS Feed
