Shindig Magazine – May-June 2009
It’s always a great pleasure to come home and find the latest issue of the splendid Shindig! magazine on the doormat. The May – June issue is, indeed, now available.

So what can the thinking man expect from the new Shindig?
Well the cover story features Gene Clark, ex-songsmith of The Byrds who descended into a drugs and drink hell before his premature death at the age of 46. There’s the first in a two-part feature on British exploitation films from the 60s and 70s; a big piece on the ‘true heroes of country-rock’, featuring The Dillards, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Goose Creek Symphony and Great Speckled Bird; plus features on ZigZag magazine, the underground periodical that ran from 1969 until the 80s and can be seen as a forerunner to the mighty Shindig; Margo Guryan; The Snobs and much more.
With all the usual news and reviews, to boot, Shindig! continues to be the music magazine for people who love psych, prog and the underground.
“For people who want more!”
